Contraiindication: 

  • Hypersensitivity to the drug 
  • Not to be given I.V. or I.M. 
  • Local or systemic infections 
  • Fungal or herpetic keratitis 
  • Cataract 
  • Tubercular or syphilitic lesions.

Special Precaution: 

  • Occlusive dressings (Topical preparation) 
  • Use of potent preparations should be short term or intermittent 
  • Milder drugs should be used in acute lesions and stronger ones are for chronic lesions 
  • Avoid sudden discontinuation of the drug 
  • Hypothyroidism 
  • Cirrhosis
  • Stress 
  • Sepsis 
  • Ocular herpes simplex
  • Peptic ulcer 
  • Hypertension
  • Osteoporosis
  • Myasthenia gravis 
  • Renal impairment 
  • Ulcerative colitis 
  • Diverticulitis

Servings: Cream: Apply 0.5% to 2.5% 1 to 4 times daily as required. Ointment: 0.5% to 2.5% Apply 1 to 4 times as required. Lotion: 0.5% to 2.5% Apply 1 to 4 times as required. Intra-articular, Intra-dermal, Intra-pleural injection: 5 to 50mg depending up on the size of the joint and severity of the condition.
