  • Starts with a lower dose & increases gradually

Interaction: Rifampicin: Lowers dapsone levels even to ten fold by accelerating plasma clearance. Folic acid antagonists: Increase the likelihood of hematologic reactions. Para-aminobenzoic acid: Antagonises the effect of dapsone. Activated charcoal: Decreases Gl absorption and enterohepatic recycling of dapsone. Probenecid: Reduces urinary excretion of dapsone, increasing plasma concentration.
